The Truly Humble Man

"Do not imagine that if you meet a really humble man he will be what most people call "humble" nowadays: he will not be a sort of greasy, smarmy person, who is always telling you that, of course, he is nobody.  Probably all you will think about him is that he seemed a cheerful, intelligent chap who took a real interest in what you said to him.  If you do dislike him it will be because you feel a little envious of anyone who seems to enjoy life so easily.  He will not be thinking about humility:
he will not be thinking about himself at all."

C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

On The Beautiful Blue Danube

Makes me wish I had stayed with Ballet. :-(  One more year and I would have been on pointe, and dancing to my hearts content!  Ah well.  One can't do everything!

Gotta love that Ballroom and those skirts!!

Lovely song too, of course. :-)

Purple Flower Tank

Pattern: Simplicity 2603
Fabric: patterned purple flowy synthetic stuff. (very professional sounding I know).  It was made of the leftovers from this tiered skirt I made for my friend's birthday.  That is her, Emily, on the right.  I was pretty sure that I posted about it when I made it, but I can't find the post now.  Oh well.

I whipped it up in probably 1 1/2 hours, but it was kinda plain, so out came the scraps!  I had seen various tutorials on making rose flowers, so it wasn't to hard to just fudge it.  Originally I pinned flowers all around the neckline, but my mom said it looked like I was wearing a wreath when I asked her opinion, so that was quickly changed. :-)  Well what do you think?  And should I be more specific when describing projects?

In the Past

So yes, some of you are probably saying, "What is with all the paintings?!" and I almost don't know myself, but aren't the clothes just lovely?  Oh, I love looking at some of the dresses in these works of art!

Anyway, you see, I am out of town.  I have been for...5 days, 6 days?  So this was written in the past, and you will read it in the future!  Isn't that nifty?

Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow, so you didn't even miss me!  Except that all your comments haven't gotten published yet...

Anyway, I have 3 sewing projects to post about when I get back, and probably a bunch of family reunion pics and stuff about friends...

So,
Au Revoir!
