Happy Birthday Mommy!

Happy Birthday!  Surprise!
My Mom's surprise 40th!  Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I was the main organizer and I had a lot to do.  On Friday our best friends came to stay till Sunday, but that surprise was ruined when a 4 year old little mousy, who was privy to all our plans kept asking my mom, "When are the mwells coming?"  "Are the Mowwells go to be here soon?" and so on.  Also, My siblings and I were cleaning like crazy, which, unfort
unately, doesn't happen all the time. :)  However, the big party the next day was a complete surprise.  As soon as Mrs. M took my mom out to lunch, the house was in an organized confusion.  We had to decorate and make the whole
cake in 3 hours.  There were also many little things that were contributed by either my siblings, the Morell family or my good friend Shannen and her mom, who were all here to help, that I will not be able to remember and thank them for, or give them credit.  Thank you all!  To see a video of my Mom walking in, go to her blog here.  We had around 50 guests, and it was a lot of fun.  I would give some details, but to be hone
st, I don't like reading everyone elses REALLY long posts if they are not interesting, so I just stop here.  :-)

Personality...how rare?

Your Personality is the Rarest (INFJ)

Your personality type is introspective, principled, self critical, and sensitive.
Only about 2% of all people have your personality - including 3% of all women and around 1% of all men.
You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging.
Hmmmmm...maybe thats why I feel like an oddball a lot.  :)  How rare is your personality?  Please take the test and comment, now I'm really curious!

President Barack Obama

And so it is that on this day of January 20, 2009 at around 12:05 our nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, inaugurated a new president.  I was taking a math quiz.  Since the a TV was on nearby though, I did hear that Itzhak Perlman, and Yo Yo Ma played a song with some other people whose names I didn't recognize.  At least he had the good taste to pick both the best violinist and best cellist in the world to play at his inauguration!  Yes, I know, how terribly unpatriotic of me!  But school must be done and I wasn't to anxious to watch it anyway.  I will be showing my patriotism in different ways.  Praying for our new president, for our past presidents, for our men and women in arms overseas and abroad, and in the upcoming VFW patriotic art contest.  I am still brain storming ideas, but I'm pretty sure that its theme will be "the last full measure of devotion" from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.  I haven't forgotten about the stamp, I will post about it when there is time, hopefully tomorrow...   Also, I must post about the big surprise!  My wonderful dad, and my siblings and I gave my mom a big surprise birthday party!  It was lots of fun.  I will also post about that.  I will include some pictures, but unfortunately, when playing the hostess part I forgot to takes oodles of pictures  *gasp!*.
By the way, the book is just as bad as I thought it would be...so far.

School

I'm so sorry!  I feel like I have completely abandoned all my blogger friends!  Well, I haven't.  So what is happening?  School started today!  Yah!  The first week is always nice because there is not a lot of work.  For all of my readers who love books, the next book I am going to dig into for school is an Agatha Christie.  I have never read any of her books, but I know that they are mysteries.  This one is called "Ten little Indians", or "And Then there were None" (because it changed names after the second and third editions were printed. )  Everyone I have talked to says that it is really good, but I'm not so sure.  So far as I know, everyone gets murdered.  Doesn't make it sound very appealing?  My thoughts exactly.
In art we made stamps today.  I was feeling rather artistic, so I did mine a little different than I usually do.  It turned out great!  I did our state bird, the Cardinal.  I am really happy with it.  I will post pictures and some details about the process if you want me to.  Just comment and say so!  I will most likely be posting very short posts until next Monday.  Why?  I am privy to a very large secret, which I am so excited about, but alas, I cannot post about it yet.  Don't worry, when I do, it will be very good!

Kick Off!

Well, today was the First Robotics Competition Kick off.  First is For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, it was founded by a brilliant engineer named Dean Kamen in 1989.  Its mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.  FRC (First Robotics Competition) is one of the challenges that FIRST has made to inspire young people.  Every year since 1992 in January There is a kick off event.  This is where the thousands of teams across the United States and Canada receive the game challenge for the year.  The teams then have  six weeks to build and ship a robot to one or more of the regionals scattered across the United States.  If you and your alliance win the regional you are at, you proceed to the national in Atlanta, Georgia.  I could go on and on and on about the game we just learned today, but, yall don't really want to hear about that do you? No, I didn't think so.  For those of you that are sorter geeky, if I may call it that, and want to know more, here is the FIRST website, and the website of the local team my brother and I are on: Rockford Robotics.  Now don't get all scared off, I'm not the one who is going to be working on modules, solenoids, bread boards, Gui C++ programming, and sheet metal!  How do I know all that right?  :)  I am going to be working with the paper work and accounting and maybe designing T-shirts. :)  All this was said, just to say that, *sniff* I won't have hardly any time to keep you all posted, let alone read....sew....play....read....read.  *sigh*  Well, I will do my best!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!:)  Even blog...
Have a happy week!

Happy New Year!

With everyone making new years resolutions around this time a year I thought I would post this hymn.  Whoever wrote sure made a big commitment.  Making resolutions is good, if you can keep them.  We need to continually be in prayer and asking the Lord to help us.  One of my goals this year is to love more.  To love my enemies(if I get any), to love my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ more, to love Christ more.  Also to find ways to show it. :)  Here is the hymn.

Take My Life and Let it Be

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love, at the impulse of thy love.

Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee; Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King, always, only, for my King.

Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages for Thee; Take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I withhold, not a mite would I withhold.

Take my love, my God, I pour at thy feet its treasure store; Take myself and I will be ever, only, all for Thee, Ever, only, all for Thee.
