Lake Miltona

Lake Miltona... Well, it's rather hard to describe if you haven't been there. Our grandparents have a cottage on it that they inhabit during the summer. It really is an amazing place, and its full of memories for me. One day I'm going to paint it. After I get really good of course.

Anyway, we went up there for a couple days for a little vacation. We did most of the usual things, reading (lots of reading :) ), puzzles(1000 piecer in a day anyone?), swinging in the hammock, and just sitting around. We didn't get much swimming in because it was unusually cold, and quite windy. We didn't do any boating either. Among the books I read were Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot, Lies Young Women Believe by Dannah Gresh, and Nancy Leigh DeMoss, and The Rivals by Richard Brinsley.

Like last year, we went to Alexandria, MN for the "Vikingland Marching Band Contest" It was interesting, but not so much fun because I couldn't recognize any of the songs. Here are some of the many pictures...

These shops in Alex remind me of an old wild west town...

I am using one of the 1940's patterns (Simplicity 3688). They sure knew how to dress back then!!!

  3. That looks like so much fun! BTW, LOVE the photo of the water splashing on the rocks! :)

  4. I definitely will! I love it too...they never go out of vogue!

I just noticed...you're actually wearing LONG sleeves...in the middle of July....????????????????????

  5. Love the pictures! Now I can see more of what you look like :) Someday I'll get my own blog and you can see what I look like too :P
I see Emily is wearing the skirt you made her. So cute!

  6. Yes! You should get a blog. It would be fun to read. I see on your profile that you like sewing...its one of my favorite things to do.
